Diary and record book kept at Hingham, Mass., by Rev. Peter Hobart of the First Church and his descendants. Records include births, baptisms, marriages, and funerals recorded or performed by Hobart from 1635 to 1679; similar records kept by his son, Rev. David Hobart, from 1679 to 1717; continued by David Hobart's sons, Rev. Nehemiah Hobart (from 1697 to 1740) and David Hobart (from 1740 to 1780). Hobart family genealogical information is included. Entries by Peter Hobart were apparently copied by his son David. Also, a ms. copy of the Hobart diary with additional information by Hosea Sprague.
